Dozens of Farmingville car owners spent Sunday assessing damage after waking up to find their tires slashed.
Residents say about 20 cars on Lidge Drive, Locust Avenue, Hillside Avenue and Hazel Street were vandalized. Joe Lopez is fixing his tires for the second time in two months. Last time, he says it cost him $930.
The victims say police plan to start patrols in unmarked cars, but residents want to start their own neighborhood watch or install cameras. Anyone with information about the vandalisms is asked to call Suffolk Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
