After winning their first Long Island championship in 21 years, the Farmingdale Dalers are eager to defend their football title.
The team had five shutouts and a perfect 12-0 record last year. On Monday, they took to the field for their first practice of the season.
The team says they embrace the target on their backs.
“I like the target. I like when people come after us every play and every game. We like that stuff,” said player Sal Posillico.
“We've been wearing that target for decades, that's always been the case here. It was the case here before I became coach and has been the case ever since. People want to beat us and that's fine,” said head coach Buddy Krumenacker.
The Dalers first game is Sept. 8 at home against Uniondale.
