A Commack teen has been missing for several days, and his family is pleading for his safe return.
Daniel Soares was last seen Wednesday with a friend at the Kings Park train station. Saturday was his 17th birthday.
His distraught family has been handing out fliers and posting messages on social media in an effort to find Soares.
His mother, Anna Soares, described the teen as a good student who is active in extra-curricular activities and in the community.
Suffolk County police confirm a missing persons report was filed and they are investigating the case.
Soares is described as 6 feet tall and 164 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. Anyone who may have seen Soares or may have information in the case is urged to call police.
Anna Soares shared a message to her son, saying, "You're not in any trouble. Please come home, OK? We just want you home, please. I love you."
