The family of a student injured in the deadly Farmingdale bus crash is planning to sue the school district.
The family filed a notice of claim against the district claiming the crash was the result of negligence and recklessness of the district.
The family is asking for $10 million for injuries and $2 million for damages.
Two lawsuits have recently been filed by parents of victims in the crash, but the suits target the Regency Bus company and driver Lisa Schaffer.
Investigators believe a faulty front tire may have caused the crash that killed high school band director Gina Pellettiere and chaperone Beatrice Ferrari.
The Farmingdale School District says it cannot comment on pending litigation.
