News 12 Long Island has learned that the family of Shannan Gilbert is demanding police release her 911 call.
Gilbert made the 23-minute 911 call the night she was seen running from a home in Oak Beach back in 2011.
Gilbert's disappearance led to the discovery of 10 other bodies at Gilgo Beach and the search for a possible serial killer.
There is no word yet from police why the call hasn't been released.
News 12 Long Island is also waiting to hear whether police have gotten a copy of the results from an independent autopsy recently earlier this month. The report said Shannan Gilbert had been strangled.
Suffolk Police ruled Gilbert's death accidental.
