Officials
say a fire tore through a home in Merrick on Wednesday night.
The fire
broke out inside the home on Clubhouse Road just after 7 p.m.
It took 11
fire departments and two hours to get the fire under control.
Fire
officials say the family inside was able to get out on their own, but
firefighters had to rescue their dog.
One
firefighter suffered a minor injury. Two other houses sustained minor heat and
smoke damage.
Investigators
say the fire does not appear suspicious.
