Dozens turned out to pay their final respects to a soldier who was laid to rest Friday.
Army Specialist Scott Bandhold, 37, of North Merrick, was killed by a roadside bomb in Iraq last week. Family and friends gathered at the Massapequa Funeral Home to remember the 18th soldier from Long Island killed since the war began. Bandhold?s ex-wife and two children came from Portugal to say goodbye.
Bandhold was buried at Pine Lawn Memorial Park, near his mother. Joy Bandhold passed away last July from emphysema.
