A notable home in the Lazy Point area of Amagansett collapsed over the weekend because of bitterly cold temperatures.
The water beneath the famous “stilt house” froze, snapping the wooden posts that supported the structure for more than 70 years.
The house now sits partially submerged in an icy layer at Gardiner’s Bay.
East Hampton officials say the building is privately owned, and the town has no plans to preserve it.
