TRACKING THE TROPICS: We're currently monitoring two areas of interest in the Atlantic basin. Hurricane Erin has regained strength to a major cat 4 hurricane moving Northwest in the Atlantic. It's expected to bring some heavy rain, high winds and possible flooding to parts of the Turks and Caicos and southeast Bahamas today. Erin will bring life-threatening rip currents, dangerous surf and beach erosion to our ocean facing beaches Wednesday through Friday. The other tropical disturbance has a medium chance of further development in the Tropical Atlantic over the next 7 days. This storm should be watched closely as it could become our next named storm later this week and possibly impact parts of the Leeward Islands. Stay tuned for updates!
