The old Kings Park Psychiatric Center is getting some extra protection this weekend due to Halloween.

State officials are announcing additional patrols and road closures throughout the property.

The move is an effort to reduce trespassing on Halloween.

The area attracts people trying to visit the abandoned sites.

The state is reminding all that the buildings are very unstable and very unsafe.

Roads through the property will reopen on Monday.
