A former Rocky Point firefighter admitted to stealing from his own department.

David Crosby, 28, pled guilty to petit larceny on Thursday.

Prosecutors say Crosby pocketed more than $23,000 while serving as treasurer by making unauthorized ATM withdrawals from the department's account and taking fundraiser money.

He is expected to get three years' probation and have to repay the money he stole when he is sentenced in January.
