EXCLUSIVE: Video shows nurse slamming infant in neonatal ICU at Good Samaritan University Hospital

WARNING: The following video may be disturbing to some viewers.

Disturbing video shows a newborn baby being roughly handled by a nurse at Good Samaritan University Hospital.
A grandmother, who wanted to hide her face and name, says her grandson was handled like a rag doll by a registered nurse in the neonatal ICU.
She says the baby's father was filming the video of his 2-day-old son through a closed curtain when the infant was picked up, flipped around and slammed back down on the bassinet.
"I didn't know what to do with myself," the grandmother says. "It was just really horrible."
The incident happened on Feb. 6 at the West Islip hospital. The child's father immediately complained to hospital staff and the registered nurse was sent home.
Catholic Health Services sent News 12 a statement, saying, "Upon learning of this incident, swift and immediate action was taken, including conducting an investigation and consequently terminating the individual involved. Additionally, we reported the individual to the Department of Health for further review. Keeping our patients safe remains our paramount concern."
The baby's family says the child is doing great and is thankful for that.
However, they also want to make sure no other newborn has to ensure something like this.
"More needs to be done - we don't know how many babies she did that to," the grandmother says. "They have practices. They train for this, they do this and to see that, it was just incredible. I'm so happy they did say that they fired her, hopefully this never happens again."
It's not clear how long the nurse had been working at Good Samaritan University Hospital or why the curtain in the neonatal ICU was closed at the time.
