A former Suffolk County legislator charged with filing a false tax return has pleaded guilty.
Fred Towle Jr. admits he failed to declare more than $1 million in income in 2012.
Towle is facing up to three years in prison plus restitution and fines of more than a half million dollars.
As a county legislator in the early 2000's, Towle was arrested on corruption charges.
Towle then cooperated with prosecutors, which led to a series of corruption indictments for years in Suffolk government.
