Students were let back into Wantagh High School and Wantagh Middle School earlier this afternoon after both were evacuated because of a bomb threat.
Police say a bomb threat, saying "Blowing up the skool [sic] today. It's no joke I've had enough," was found written on the wall inside a boys' bathroom in the high school. Both schools were evacuated at around 9:30 a.m.
Students and staff were taken to Forest Lake Elementary School and St. Francis Church while police did a thorough search of both schools. An automated message was sent to parents informing them about the threat.
An extensive search by police turned up nothing suspicious. Everyone was let back into the schools just after 1 p.m.
