September is National Healthy Aging Month, and even though the month is winding down, one entrepreneur says it’s never too late to make a healthier start.
Saad Alam is the founder and CEO of Hone Health, a telehealth company. He travels across the tri-state area, including Long Island, working with people to enhance their well-being. He creates personalized plans and at-home blood test kits for hormone checks, making them more accessible.
Inspired by his dad — who died after battling chronic illnesses like diabetes — Saad is on a mission to help others stay healthy, active and young as they age.
"The first thing people should do is just educate themselves on what's happening in their body. I can't tell you the number of people who are afraid to hear the truth," said Alam. "I always tell them, the single best thing you can do - hear the truth, figure out where you are, because the best part about this entire equation is - you can fix it if you start it early enough.”
Saad said they have tested 600,000 people nationwide since launching the business about six years ago.
