Enhanced shark monitoring announced for LI state park beaches ahead of summer

Gov. Kathy Hochul announced Tuesday increased surveillance for sharks along Long Island state park beaches this summer.
This includes 10 new drones, along with increased watercraft and helicopter monitoring.
Twelve new staff members will be trained for the efforts by the Fourth of July weekend.
They will join 21 park police officers, lifeguards and certified drone operators who are already trained
