On this Earth Day,
volunteers are helping to keep Long
Island clean.
Some volunteers are out this morning at Rattle Snake
Creek on Sunrise Highway in Oakdale.
The volunteers from Save the Great South Bay are
cleaning up dumped debris, tires and construction debris.
The group says the creeks are the lifeblood of Long
Island and the Great South Bay will only be as healthy as the creeks and rivers
that flow into it.
There are some 50 creeks that flow into the bay
along the 16 communities along the South Shore.
