Dry and seasonable weather continues on Long Island Wednesday before some cooler air arrives for Thursday and Friday. Highs will be in the low to mid-60s with lows in the 40s.
The weather is expected to stay dry into the weekend with mostly sunny skies and a few clouds from time to time.
The next chance for some rain will be Sunday night into Monday morning, but right now the chance is quite low, and any rain will be light.
Hurricane Milton is expected to make landfall Wednesday night in the Tampa area, track across the state of Florida, and head out to sea by Thursday afternoon. The area is bracing and preparing for devastating storm surge along the coast, damaging winds and flooding rains.
