Dowling College granted its last degrees Wednesday before closing its doors for good. 
The college will lose its accreditation after operating for more than 48 years. 
As News 12 has reported, the liberal arts college ran out of money after falling into debt. 
Dowling came up with several plans to stay open, but they did not pan out. 
It is not clear what will happen to the Oakdale and Shirley campuses.
