The Department of Transportation is allowing drivers to file claims to be reimbursed for some pothole damage.
The DOT will accept claims from drivers for damage that occurred on state roads, between May and Nov. 15. The law does not allow claims for damage that happened during the height of winter.
Roughly 15 percent of New York's roads are under state control, but those same roads are some of the busiest.
The DOT says maintenance crews are continuing pothole repairs following the harsh winter.
