Dog rescued from LIRR tracks by MTA crew

The MTA says the crew was able to stop the train and remove the dog from the tracks.

A dog was rescued from the LIRR tracks on Saturday by MTA crew members.

A News 12 viewer says this happened at the Merillon Avenue Station in Garden City and that the morning train was heading to Penn Station when the dog was spotted on the tracks.

The MTA says the crew was able to stop the train and remove the dog from the tracks.

News 12 was able to get in touch with family members of the dog's owner who says the dog is doing well.
