A coyote was rescued from the marshlands in St. James on Tuesday.
Frankie Floridia from Strong Island Animal Rescue says the coyote had an injured paw and was pulled to safety around 7 p.m.

Police called Floridia to the scene to help. The rescue was a joint effort between Strong Island, Sweetbriar Nature Center and the police.

The marshlands where the coyote was saved are near Sweetbriar, which is providing care for the coyote.
