The New York Knicks are headed to the NBA Finals, and the excitement is spreading far beyond Madison Square Garden.
Across Long Island, businesses are getting into the spirit with special treats, promotions and displays designed to celebrate the team’s championship run and connect with enthusiastic fans.
At Front Street Bakery in Rockville Centre, the family-owned shop has transformed its signature dot cookies into Knicks-inspired creations decorated in blue and orange. The bakery, which is celebrating its 80th anniversary this year, says the colorful treats have been a hit with customers eager to show their team pride.
In Plainview, Town Bagel is also cashing in on the excitement. Owner Carl Cohen created Knicks-themed bagels and cookies after the team clinched its spot in the finals. The response has been overwhelming, with dozens of customers stopping in to grab the limited-edition treats. Cohen says he gave away 20 dozen Knicks cookies last week alone.
Fans who make a purchase and follow the business on Instagram can receive a free Knicks cookie while supplies last.
Meanwhile, Signarama in Huntington Station is helping fans take their support to the next level. The sign company has been producing custom lawn signs, banners and window displays for Knicks fans looking to showcase their team spirit at home and at local businesses.
Game one of the NBA Finals kicks off Wednesday night.
