If you're looking for a family-friendly activity during the holiday break, it might be time to take a trip to the past.
The Center for Science hosted the second annual Dinosaur Carnival in Rockville Centre. The event started on Saturday, Dec. 23 and runs until Sunday, Dec. 31, 2023 at the Center's Dinosaurs! Exhibit.
Families can expect dinosaur inspired carnival games, face painting, educational programs, encounters with friendly dinosaur characters, giveaways, prizes and more.
The exhibit has 10 animatronic dinosaurs and more than 20 realistic dinosaur skeleton casts. The center also has live wild animals, like, owls, emus, golden pheasants, goats, snakes, lizards, turtles, frogs and more.
"We really want to encourage family learning, and that science is cool for all ages, so the carnival is a way to bring people down," explained Dr. Ray Ann Havasy who is the executive director of The Center for Science.
Tickets can be purchased at the door and are $12 for children ages 2-13, $15 for children and adults ages 14 and up and $12 for seniors over 65. Tickets include entry into the Dinosaurs! and Live Animals Exhibit.
You can find more information on the centers website here.
