Suffolk police: West Babylon man killed in two-car crash

A two-car crash in West Babylon early Sunday morning resulted in the death of a 63-year-old man.
David Martinez, of West Babylon, was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Impala westbound on Commander Avenue when police say he attempted to make a left turn on to southbound Straight Path.
His vehicle was struck by a 2015 GMC Acadia around 5:36 a.m.
The other driver, 18-year-old Nicolas Apostolides, also from West Babylon, was not injured.
Martinez was transported from the scene to Good Samaritan University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Detectives say both cars were impounded for a safety check.
