Five people were arrested for criminal possession of a weapon on Thursday in Mineola, detectives say.
They say police responded to a disturbance where a 23-year-old man said a weapon was pointed at him from another driver on Jericho Turnpike near the intersection of Willis Avenue before fleeing the scene.
The vehicle being driven by 27-year-old Darryl Walker, of Amityville, was found traveling southbound on Holly Avenue near the intersection of Front Street.
Four adults and a 16-year-old girl were arrested once the car was stopped and searched.
Walker is charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, second-degree criminal use of a firearm, criminal possession of a firearm and second-degree menacing.
Inaya Rabsatt, 22, of Uniondale; Lamel Robinson, 29, of Copiague; Alexis Clarke, 25, of Buffalo; and the 16-year-old female were charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a firearm.
