Dept. of Environmental Conservation issues air quality alert in Hudson Valley

The DEC advised that people who are in sensitive groups -- including the elderly, pregnant women and those who suffer from lung or heart conditions or have asthma take some precautions while being outside.

The state Department of Environmental Conservation issued an air quality health advisory for the lower Hudson Valley on Wednesday.
The DEC advised that people who are in sensitive groups -- including the elderly, pregnant women and those who suffer from lung or heart conditions or have asthma take some precautions while being outside.
They added to make outdoor activities shorter and less intense, take more breaks and watch for symptoms such as coughing and shortness of breath.
The air quality alert will be in effect until 11 p.m.
