Danbury man arrested for fleeing police in stolen car during Newtown traffic stop

The suspect was eventually located and taken into custody. His identity has not been released ahead of his arraignment.

A 21-year-old Danbury man is facing charges following a weekend incident in which he fled from police in a stolen vehicle during a traffic stop in Newtown.
Police initiated the traffic stop on Toddy Hill Road Sunday morning, but the driver made a U-turn and sped away.
The driver then crashed the vehicle and ran on foot.
Officers determined the car had been reported stolen in Danbury days prior.
The suspect was eventually located and taken into custody. His identity has not been released ahead of his arraignment.
