College students involved in making a controversial video that mocked terrorism reached a closed-door agreement with C.W. Post officials Wednesday.
Neither university officials nor the five seniors revealed details of the deal after it was reached at a Nassau County courthouse in Mineola. C.W. Post fired the students from their resident assistant jobs after they filmed a video in which they kidnapped a rubber duck and demanded an iPod, and other goods, as ransom. The video briefly appeared on the Web site YouTube and angered some local Islamic groups for its portrayal of stereotypes. The students then sued the school to get their jobs back.
Although none of the deal's particulars were confirmed, the students' lawyer Fred Brewington says everyone walked away happy.
