A former Long Islander with decades of experience dealing with budgets has been named Nassau County's new financial watchdog. 
Gov. Andrew Cuomo has named Adam Barsky chairman of the Nassau Interim Finance Authority, according to Newsday. 
Barsky is an East Islip native now living in Westchester. 
He served as a city budget director in the Giuliani administration and director of finance in the Town of Babylon. 
Barsky is leaving a job as vice president of the Israel Discount Bank of New York.
