Road crews took advantage of the clear skies and milder temperatures Thursday to get back to work fixing the potholes that have been plaguing Long Island roadways.
Drivers say many Long Island roads and highways are covered in large potholes, tearing up cars and causing flat tires.
Local highway departments have been struggling to keep up with all the pothole complaints due to the weather. Town of Oyster Bay crews out Thursday say they were greeted with cheers from motorists as they filled potholes.
AAA's Robert Sinclair advises motorists to keep their speed down when going over potholes, and to not abruptly maneuver around them as it can cause accidents.
