Kings Park native Craig Biggio is preparing for his induction into the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
After 20 seasons in Major League Baseball, more than 3,000 hits and seven All-Star Game appearances, Biggio will officially take his place among the game's best players with a ceremony Sunday in Cooperstown.
Biggio took some time in Cooperstown to tell News 12 about his Long Island roots.
"My childhood in Kings Park was great - I loved it," he said. "Great coaches, great people, families - a lot of people have an impact on your life to be able to get here."
Biggio will be the first player to enter the Hall of Fame as a Houston Astro.
Other members of this year's Hall of Fame class are former Met Pedro Martinez, former Atlanta Brave John Smoltz and former Yankee Randy Johnson.
