Nassau police arrested a man and his girlfriend Monday in connection with a double homicide in Elmont.
According to police, Grace Thorpe, 41, and her ex-husband, 51-year-old Franklin Gallimore Jr., were found shot to death Sunday inside Thorpe's Post Avenue home after responding to a 911 call. Witnesses told police they saw a man and woman leaving the home in a black car. Police arrested the pair's son, 20-year-old Franklin Gallimore III, and Katherina Galatro, 18. Police have not made public what each will be charged with.
Investigators said Thorpe planned to kick her son out of her house for his laziness and her distaste for his girlfriend, Galatro. Police said when Thorpe enlisted her ex-husband's help to evict their son and change the locks, the argument ended with gunshots.
Suffolk police tracked down and apprehended Gallimore III and Galatro at a hotel on Route 110 in Farmingdale late Sunday. The suspects were then turned over to Nassau authorities.
