WILDFIRE SMOKE
Wildfire smoke is back and now it's coming from Southern New Jersey. The massive Jones Road Wildfire in Ocean County has already burned 11,500 acres and it's only 30% contained. A light south wind this afternoon through tomorrow will bring a very hazy and milky sky. The sunset this evening will be in a deep hue of orange, red and pink due to the wildfire smoke in the air. A combination of warm air, wildfire smoke and very light winds will impact the air quality. The air will become stagnant and start to decline to near unhealthy levels. The smell of smoke will start spreading later this evening. Your News 12 Meteorologist will keep you up to date on how the wildfire smoke and air quality is impacting your neighborhood.
