The trip out to some of Nassau County's South Shore beaches should be a little easier in the warm days ahead.
That is because construction will be suspended on the drawbridges on the Loop and Meadowbrook parkways this summer.
The state says the traffic shifts will go back into effect sometime after Labor Day with the hope of finishing construction by spring 2024.
Construction will also be suspended out east, on the approach to the Shelter Island South Ferry dock during the same time period.
