A little league coach is accused of stealing thousands of dollars from the Plainview Baseball Association.
Joe Green, a father of three, was the Plainview Baseball Association's equipment coach for 12 years before his recent dismissal. Green was in charge of purchasing all the association's equipment during his tenure.
The league attorney, Lawrence Carra, said the treasurer found $38,000 in discrepancies in invoices dating back to 2005.
"There was a significant sum of money that was missing and unaccounted for with regard to various equipment purchases," Carra said.
News 12 Long Island attempted to contact Green at his home without success.
