HIGH RISK RIP CURRENTS: For Wednesday and likely Thursday
Hurricanes Idalia and Franklin stay away from Long Island but we do feel the effects along our South Shore. Idalia will likely make landfall early Wednesday morning in Florida just south of Tallahassee.
Skies clear Wednesday afternoon with sunshine and beautiful, warm weather through the holiday weekend.
BLUE MOON: The full blue supermoon is on Thursday. Moonrise is at 8:08 and visibility will be great.
OVERNIGHT: Cloudy and muggy with the chance for a few showers. Lows near 69 with easterly winds 5 to 10 mph. Sunrise: 6:17
WEDNESDAY: Mostly cloudy in the morning with the chance for a few showers and possibly a rumble of thunder. Clearing with sunshine for the afternoon. Warm with highs near 83. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph. Sunset: 7:28
