STORM WATCH: Scattered storms, localized flooding possible Wednesday in the Hudson Valley

An approaching cold front brings rain Wednesday. Hurricane Erin moves up the East Coast and impacts our area without making landfall.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
  • Temperatures continue to run below average so far this work week, with highs in the 70s and morning temps feeling a little cool and crisp. Sunshine will be covered up by an increase in cloud cover overnight into Wednesday as a cold front moves towards the area.
  • Thursday will see the rain fade early in the day with breezy to gusty winds picking up.
  • Over the course of the weekend, we'll go from sunny skies to mostly cloudy, with a chance for showers and storms Sunday afternoon into Monday.
  • TROPICS: Hurricane Erin is on the move in the Western Atlantic Ocean. It has weakened since it hit Category 5 status Saturday, but it is still a large and powerful storm. It is forecast to curve away from the Bahamas and make a northernly turn Wednesday.
OVERNIGHT: Increasing clouds with a mild feeling in the air and a light breeze. Lows: upper 50s to mid-60s.
WEDNESDAY: WEATHER TO WATCH - Mostly sunny. Highs: Upper 70s. Lows: Upper 50s to low 60s. Cloudy with scattered rain chances with isolated storms possible.
THURSDAY: Mix of sun and clouds with breezy to windy conditions. Highs: Mid-70s. Lows: Upper 50s.
FRIDAY: Partly cloudy with breezy winds backing down through the day. Highs: Upper 70s to low 80s. Lows: Upper 50s to low 60s.
SATURDAY: Mostly sunny with humidity slowly returning. Highs: Low 80s. Lows: Mid-60s.
SUNDAY: Mostly cloudy with scattered showers moving in through the day. Highs: Upper 70s to low 80s. Lows: Mid-60s.
