Classes resume at Baldwin elementary school after gas odor causes evacuation

A Baldwin elementary school forced to evacuate due to an odor is open Friday. Students and faculty of Milburn Elementary School were ordered out of the building Thursday because of a strong gas odor.

A Baldwin elementary school forced to evacuate due to an odor is open Friday. Students and faculty of Milburn Elementary School were ordered out of the building Thursday because of a strong gas odor. School officials have said it's safe to return and children are back in class.The Baldwin Fire Department arrived Thursday afternoon after getting a call about the odor inside. The fire department ventilated the building and conducted tests to try to determine the cause of the odor. Officials said no leaks were found and its tests did not find anything considered flammable. Tests were also conducted overnight and the results were the same.Officials are still investigating what caused the odor.
