Members of a south shore civic group took to the boardwalk Thursday to spread their message against a proposed windmill farm off Jones Beach.

Critics say LIPA?s windmills will not only be an eyesore, but will also act as giant air conditioners that could ruin business along the shore. People opposed to the off-shore windmills say there are simply too many unanswered questions to support the project.

Environmentalist Adrienne Esposito says the environmental impact will be minimal. She says opponents are jumping the gun and that all questions will be answered when the review process begins. She adds that projects such as wind power are vital and that aesthetic views must be put aside to preserve America?s energy future.
