Mount St. Michaels came up a few yards short in the CHSFL AAA championship game versus St. Anthony's for the second straight year.
The 26-20 win gave St. Anthony's its seventh-straight title. With the game tied 12-12 at halftime, Isiah Moody scored for Mount with a 98-yard kickoff return. Late heroics, however, were enough to put the boys from Long Island on top for good.
The seventh-seeded Mountaineers made a Cinderella run in the postseason, upsetting second-seed St. Joseph's and sixth-seed Chaminade on the way to their title shot.
The championship game pitted the two against each other in their second major contest of the season. In September, the Mountaineers pulled out a win against St. Anthony's to end the team's 64-game win streak.
