A Northport autistic teenager was cut off by an administrator at a board meeting as he tried to justify why he shouldn't have been suspended from school.
Christian Ranieri, 14, was kicked out of school for two days after he allegedly confronted his resource room teacher. Ranieri says his teacher failed to follow his behavior intervention plan, which he says prompted him to react in a way his teacher deemed belligerent.
Meanwhile, at the meeting Monday night, board officials commended Ranieri for speaking publicly, but say certain parts of his remarks were inappropriate.
Ranieri's mother says administration officials have canceled multiple appointments to discuss the suspension, and have filed an appeal letter.
They are waiting to find out whether the suspension will be wiped clean from Ranieri's permanent record.
