A prolonged stretch of pleasant weather is expected across Long Island this week as a stable weather pattern settles into the Northeast.
A few isolated showers may pass through overnight Sunday, but any lingering moisture will move offshore before sunrise Monday. The result will be a bright and comfortable start to the workweek, featuring sunshine, light winds and afternoon temperatures in the upper 60s to near 70 degrees.
Rain chances remain minimal throughout the week, and most locations will stay dry. While a brief isolated shower cannot be completely ruled out at times, widespread wet weather is not expected and should not disrupt outdoor plans.
Temperatures will steadily climb through the middle of the week, reaching near 80 degrees by Wednesday and Thursday. By Friday and Saturday, highs are expected to reach the mid- to upper 80s inland, while shoreline communities remain slightly cooler thanks to onshore breezes.
Looking ahead to next weekend, sunshine and warm temperatures will create excellent beach weather, with only a few clouds mixing into the sky. The forecast marks a significant shift toward a more summerlike pattern that appears likely to continue into the following week.
No significant risk for rain is expected in the next 7-10 days.
