A Central Islip man has pleaded guilty to sexually abusing and threatening a young girl for years.

The abuse began in 2014 when the victim was only 10 years old.

Elmer Martinez, 44, admitted to threatening the victim to keep the sexual abuse a secret.

The abuse continued for six years before the victim finally reported it.

Martinez faces 10 years in prison when he is sentenced.
