A Centereach man pleaded guilty to stabbing a Suffolk police officer back in 2021.
Police say the incident happened when officers tried to pull over Jonathan Nunez for driving erratically in Patchogue.
Following a high-speed chase, the 27-year-old crashed into a car and then tried to flee.
Nunez was eventually caught in a backyard where he stabbed the officer in a major artery in his leg.
He is expected to be sentenced to 16 years in prison.
