CDC says risk of getting COVID-19 from surfaces is low

The CDC is now saying the risk of surface transmission of COVID-19 is low.
Dr. Bruce Polsky says we now know the virus is transmitted through respiratory droplets containing the virus.
"The major outbreaks of COVID have not been associated with packages, with surfaces," Polsky says.
He says when the virus was first around, we were dealing with the complete unknown, so it made sense to take a high level of precaution.
Polsky says if someone is sick in your house, that's when you should be using your disinfecting wipes to wipe down high touch areas like doorknobs and countertops.
