Surveillance video appears to show brazen thieves Monday morning stealing an idling car from a driveway in Hillside.
The video shows two thieves first check a Kia that was idling that had an auto theft bar on the steering wheel. Their attention then goes to an Honda CRV in the back of the driveway. Once inside, they slowly pull around the Kia and make their way down the front lawn.

That’s when the vehicle owners, Andrea Hays and her daughter Autumn, come running out of the house to try and stop them.
Autumn tried to smash the passenger window with a baseball bat and says her foot was run over while the thieves got away.
Hillside police found the vehicle just a few blocks away in Irvington. Andrea got her Honda back with a broken window.
There were no serious injuries reported.
