Residents of a Moriches apartment complex say they are concerned for their safety following a string of car vandalisms.
Vandalism victim Carol Staull says the situation at the Pine Hills South apartments is getting worse every day. She says a group of teens used to vandalize cars every few months, but she says the incidents are now occurring every few days. Residents say windows have been smashed and cars set on fire in the last three weeks. Many say they are scared to go outside at night and fear the vandals will progress to breaking into homes.
Residents say there is some security, but that one guard is responsible for patrolling three complexes. They say management is ignoring pleas for more security. Suffolk police say they are investigating.
