An out-of-control car slammed into a Freeport deli Monday.
The car was sent careening onto the sidewalk along Babylon Turnpike after it collided with another vehicle.
Surveillance video shows a woman in the front of MAM Deli able to get out of the way in time.
The deli's owner, Miguel Medina, says he was in another room when he heard the crash and that the impact left a gaping hole in his storefront.
He says he came out to the crash fearing the worst.
"Normally, we're full of people and she hit where the people normally stand to pay," he says. "So, thank God nobody got hurt."
Medina says the driver of the car and a customer were injured.
The customer, 53-year-old Kevin Butler, of Manhasset, was hospitalized after being hit in the leg by flying debris.
Butler says he was in the deli to buy lottery tickets at the time of the incident.
"I heard this loud bang, boom. I just happened to turned to my left and look out to the front of the store and I saw this black car just barreling to me, coming towards the front glass," he says.
Medina says the woman seen in the surveillance video walked away from the scene of the crash.
