Crews descended on a location in Bay Shore Monday after a car plunged into the water at the end of Ocean Avenue.
We brought you the story live, first on News 12 Long Island.
Police divers were able to pull out one elderly female victim from the water, she was taken to the hospital in cardiac arrest. Another woman died after becoming trapped inside the vehicle.
Two Good Samaritans jumped into the water to try and save the victims before emergency crews arrived. However, they were unsuccessful and later treated for exposure to the cold water.
